It is open to both males and females The wage is $3 55 per hour N ig h t set fo r Spook A lley The Woodland Chamber of C om m erce and the Woodland Park Plaza Mer chants Association will be sponsoring the an n ual Spook Alley Night Sunday, Oct. 31 "There will be food, fun and games for a ll," accor ding to Patti Griffin "And lots of freebies for the children ” There will be a pumpkin carving contest and a jelly bean counting contest, in addition to the expanded schedule of 21 games for kids and adults Also, the Great Pumpkin will make its first ap pearance a school district today is like gambling with money you didn't really have He said the budget is prepared in March, about the time the S u p e rin te n d e n t of Public Instruction, as man dated by law, gives the district an estimate of what his office believes w ill be given for basic school sup port This is about four months before district officials ac tually know how much money they will be receiv ing, said Blackburn The result is a budget with no guarantees that the money will be forthcoming Last year for example. Blackburn said the state first informed him that the district would probably be getting $245,000 Later this w as re d u c e d to an estim ated $216.000 Still later, they were told they would be getting only $196.000 As it turned out. they received $201,000 “ I t ’s getting tougher ea ch y e a r ,” sa id Blackburn The budget’s already put together and I passing the firs t tim e before voters If you examine the tax bases voted upon in 1982. of the proposed 30 to 40. Damaged in the mishap was about a 25-foot section of cyclone fence and a light pole, both located on the south side of the new wing of the school. The bid was awarded to Cascade General Repair for $125 plus materials.
