Julie I lmen, the nurse, and Stacey Smith, the bird, act out a play written by Smith about the hazard« of going out without telling one's parents. Smith is the daughter of Sandy and Ben Smith. Ulmen Is the daughter of Vicki and Don I lmen, and Hoskin Is the daughter of Jack Hoskin and Glenda Hoskin. All are fifth graders at Fir wood School. Martha Ledford's fifth grade class helped their "buddy class," Ruth Jensen's first graders, make applesauce last week. PTC fund raiser set Students at Firwood School will be selling Light Images this week, according to Patti Tobias, ch ir- man of the Firwood Parent- Teacher Club's fund raiser Light Images are acrylic or naments with the look of crystal A variety of etched images are available There will be no door-to-door sales Sales will be made only through family or friends. Students will take home a sam pie, and the parents may either but it or return it. Prices start at $4 Light Images reportedly make good Christmas ornaments, or may be hung in front of a window or glass door All students selling a minimum of 110 worth will receive a prize Prizes vary according to the amount of sales made The top prize will be an Atari home computer An AM-FM radio is the second prize, and a monkey puppet will be awarded to the third-best salesman. The kickoff date was Oct 6 Students may make sales through Oct. 13. The PTC would like to earn enough money to buy a copying machine, which would benefit the students. Tobias pointed out Other proceeds from PTC fund raisers have gone toward a com puter. which al) students have had an opportunity to use.
