10 S A N O Y ( O r * ) POST Th w rt S *p l 23 IW (S m I) Boys soccer team falls 6-0 The Sandy bovs soccer team fell 6-0 to Reynolds under the lights of the Mt. Hood Community College field last week “ 1 was embarrassed by the blowout/' said Coach Lon Welsh. “ We have much too good a team to get blown out " Reynolds has a good team. Welsh said, but not one of the Mt. Hood Con ference favorites Things went well in the first half Welsh said San dy's players applied of fense pressure and con trolled the ball. Thirty minutes into the half Reynolds scored, and the Lancers scored again just before halftim e (a half is 4<> minutest. Welsh felt the Pioneers played less aggressively in the second half Reynolds scored again 10 minutes into the second half, and the final three goals came in the last eight minutes. Welsh said “ c ritic a l times'* (loosely applied) for the Pioneers were again in the first and last five minutes of each half Senior goalie Earl Pier son made 10 saves, but Reynolds got off 20 shots (four hit the goal post or were outside the net) to five for the Pioneers.
