JO N ES for the coming school year One district has also hired Post Correspondent Four of the six school districts in the Sandy area w ill be hiring new teachers a new superintendent Nancy Savage, a former second grade teacher who left Welches Grade School two years ago to raise a fam ily, is returning for the 1982 83 school year According to Superinten dent Kenneth Blackburn. Savage has been re-hired by the Welches School District as a full time fourth grade teacher Savage re tu rn e d to Welches last year and work ed u n d e r an e xtended V V f qiveua i die hometown substitute teacher's contract as a physical education in structor The Sandy Elem entary D istrict w ill have four new teachers However, to date only two of these positions have been filled S u p e rin te n d e n t C la rk Lund said the position for a language arts teacher and a guidance and counseling position for seventh and eighth graders at Cedar Ridge School have not been filled Lund said he anticipates the positions being filled by the first of September at the latest. The two positions the district has filled are both at Sandy E le m e n ta ry, said Lund. Pamela Beasley has been hired to operate the resource classroom for special educa tion. Beasley, said Lund, is not a newcomer to the district. Last year she worked under a special extended contract Connie Kinder has been hired as a sixth grade teacher at Sandy Elemen tary. The B u ll Run School D istrict has hired two new teachers for the coming school year, in addition to a new superintendent. Wesley John was hired in July as the superintendent for the Bull Run D istrict He is a form erly from Eagle Point, Ore , which is 15 miles northeast of Medford He served th a t d is tr ic t as su p e rin te n d e n t fo r fo u r years Kathleen Anthony, a re cent graduate of Portland State University, has been hired as the d is tric t’s first and second grade teacher Ralph Wanderer has been h ire d as the d is t r ic t ’s seventh and eighth grade teacher Last year he taught at Round Valley Elementary School in Covelo, Calf The Sandy Union High School and Boring Elemen tary Districts w ill be hiring no new teachers.
