Clark joked that runners should remember how they drove out of the clouds and into the sunshine when ski season rolls around Except for a couple of organiza tional problems, Karen Dobroth, marketing assistant at Meadows, felt the event went well. One of those organizational errors occurred when a course guide allow ed the runners to miss a turn, cutting off a two-kilometer loop. Most runners probably didn’t mind The last two miles of the race was all uphill The "challenging" course went from about the 4,350-foot level to 5,300 at the lodge. Also, runners who finished in the middle of the pack had to wait in line while their finishes were being recorded. Chris Hamilton of Portland won the race in 22:01.
