Early Sunday morning,
police arrested a Sandy
man after an incident at
Sandy City Hall
Police stopped Stephen
John Aubm, 26. for a traffic
violation at 1:53 a m near
the intersection of Pioneer
B oulevard and M einig
Avenue.
At Sandy City Hall Aubm
was cited for driving under
the influence of in to x ­
icants However, following
an incident at the police
station, he was arrested for
assaulting a public safety
officer, resisting arrest,
second degree c rim in a l
trespass and third-degree
escape He was taken to
Clackamas County Jail.
David Allen Novotny, 42,
of Sandy was arrested at
2:17 a m Sunday for d riv ­
ing w ith a suspended
license and dnving under
the influence of intoxicants
after a traffic stop at Plea
sant Street and Ten Eyck
Road. He was taken to
Clackamas County Jail

he was stopped for a tra ffic
violation. He was cited for
speeding and driving with a

Highway 26, just west of
McCabe Road.
A 1974 Lotus, driven by
Paul Amstutz of Portland,
left the road, rolled over
and the vehicle's gas tank
tore loose, whereupon the
car exploded Sandy Fire
Marshal Jim Gallagher
said the car, valued at an
estimated 520,000. was a
total loss
For the week, Gallagher
reported 19 first aids which
he termed “ quite a few,"
three minor vehicle ac­
cidents, and three public
assists re la te d to the
festival, in addition to the
car fire
At the end of June, he
said, the fire district had
answered 59 more alarms
than it had by June 30. 1961
So far this year, the fire
district has answered 462
emergency calls
