Abernethy Road. Oregon
City, to discuss his plans
for the site
He is seeking an inter

County Planning Division
staff that an earlier condi

riding stable became in
valid when a sim ilar per

At one time, the u tility
was going to use the fa c ili

Boring, to house its equip
Sandy
ment That plan was later
abandoned.
Dorrough would like a
conditional use permit to
use the property as a riding
stable horse arean, to
board horses and hold
horse shows
Up to 190 horses would be
boarded on the property
Approximately 10 horse
shows per year would
ultim ately be held on the
property, currently zoned

minimum lot size.

Taxes on a pack of
smokes took a 3-cent hike

The increase was ap
proved by the 1982 Special
Session of the Oregon
legislature as part of a
program to balance the
state’s budget The in

Cigarette tax monies are
shared by cities, counties
and the state General

cities and counties get 1
cent per pack, with the rest
going to state government.
All the money generated by
the increase- estimated to
be $11.3 m illion—w ill go to
the state General Fund
sell now that the increase is
in effect. They were re
quired to inventory their
stock on hand on their last
business day in May and
m ust file sp e cia l ta x
returns by June 20.
