Fun with Music group raises

The Fun w ith Music
group of Boring recently
met for its annual donation
night This year 5400 was
raised for the Oral Hull
Foundation for the Blind,
which is double what the
group gave last year.
The evening began with
dinner at the Tollgate
Restaurant in Sandy Six
teen members attended
Following the dinner the
group toured the grounds
at Oral Hull, including the
“ Enchanted Gardens ” At
the end of the evening 544M)
wrapped in brown paper,
was presented to Gene
Bobo, the caretaker
While this was the second
year the club contributed to
Oral Hull, it marks the l(Mh
year since Fun with Music
was organized
It was formed by a group
of people in Boring, and
spearheaded by Gordon
Wight, club coordinator.
Fun with Music has en
joyed a 15 percent increase
in membership this year,
according to Wights Most
live in the vicinity, but
some live as far away as
California, Minnesota and
Nebraska
The name of the club
describes exactly what
they do I t ’s people getting
together to have fun with
music, according to Wight

we feel like hanging on it.”
Parades usually cost the
club about 150 each.
The floats always carry
live bands “ We’ve never in
the club s history danced to
canned music. I t ’s always
been live.” said Wight.

About the appeal of Fun
with Music, Wight said, “ I
think i t ’s because we’re
close together.”
The group’s motto: "A

each member has a voice
and is an asset in the club ”
To join the club one must
be at least 12 years of age.
Dues are $1 50 every three
months and activities are
held at the Boring Grange
