Beth Baker, secretary of
the RNG, said the meeting
will deal with various ways
the STEP program will
help to im p ro v e fish
passage and enhancement
in Henry and Meadow
Creeks
Recently Jay Massey, a
fish biologist with the
department s Clackamas
County office, conducted a
survey of the two streams
and identified an ill-placed
c u lv e r t ,

runs
underneath Henry Creek
Avenue, as being a major
obstacle for fish attemp
ting to swim upstream to
spawn
sw iftly moving waters

In addition a number of
log jams and an old dam
would have to be removed
in order to insure fish
passage during periods of
low flow.
Baker said that the
d e p a r t m e n t ’s
STEP
representative will discuss
improving the stream as
well as artificially planting
eggs in the creeks in an at
tempt to increase produc
tivity

at Baker's residence at the
end of Littlebrook Avenue
in Rhododendron

MHCC. He said he decided
it was time to get back into
the surveyor's office when
he discovered the same
maps that he had drawn in
the late 50s and early 60s

“ I ’d like to get back into
politics because I'm not
happy about what is hap
pening in government to
day,” said Keeley
Keeley said that if he
were elected he would up
date the maps of the county
and m ake them more
readily available to the
public
Keeley said that when
the county stopped main
taining section corners the
public not only had dif
ficulties getting their pro
perty surveyed, but also
the costs increased
If elected. Gage said he
will pursue a policy to have
survey information readily
a v a ila b le
and
w ill
cooperate for the public
benefit

would assist individuals
needing advice on boun
