Jan 24, at 7 p m "Heavenly Deception” is the true story of Chris Elkins' journey from the college campus to the inner workings of the Unification Church Although raised in a Christian fam ily and atten ding church re g u la rly , Elkins never grew in his faith He still had ques tions One day in college, Elkins met a man, so meone who seemed to have the answers, a man who directed him to a church of love, care and concern -a church of unification He became a "Moonie.” But it wasn't long before he sensed a sort of decep tion when the end justified the means—a standard that promoted and en c o u ra g e d w ith in the Unification Church, from the kids selling flowers on the street corners all the way to the highest echelon in Teheran This marked the second tim e th a t N a tio n a l Assembly members have been seized in a year and a half The first group of nine disappeared along with two other Baha'i officials Aug 20, 19«o They have not been seen or heard from since. "The tragic news just received suggests the first g ro u p of N a tio n a l Assembly members may have suffered the same fate,” said Bill Knight Weiler, chairman of the Sandy Baha'i Assembly " I t removes any doubt as to the determination of the fa n a tic s in Ir a n to eliminate the leadership and thus destroy the Baha i c o m m u n ity in th a t country." he said. "There appears to be no official intention of reveal ing the executions of the Baha’i leadership The in formation about the night time executions was leaked through a reliable source,” Knight Weiler said Since its inception in Iran 137 years ago, the Baha'i Faith has aroused the op position of Ira n 's fu n damentalist Muslim clergy who regard the newer religion as a heresy Baha'is believe that the founder of their religion, Baha'u'llah, is the most re cent prophet of God His teachings about the com mon foundation of the w o rld 's re lig io n s , the oneness of all races, the equality of men and women and the need fo r establishing a universal g o v e rn m e n t fo r the maintenance of lasting peace have stirred the violent opposition of the fundamentalist elements in Iran, according to Knight- Weiler Instructions for preparing ii*Bi Tax Forms liMOA and 1040 with schedules A and B are available at Sandy Public Library The instructions are available in print form or cassette and may be borrowed for a»week at a time Reproducible Federal Tax Forms are also available If a person is unsure which form is needed, there is a subject in dex which indicates the correct tax form number to ask for As a public service, the library w ill make the first two copies needed There is a 15-cent charge per copy for addi tional copies New books at the librarv include The Second Stage by Betty Friedan, "Fodor's Europe 1982," “ Personal Financial S urvival" by David Brownstone and "The Walk West" by Peter and Barbara Jenkins T a x assistance av ailab le at public lib ra ry Haircut with Air $050 Wave Deane’s Auto Repair D e a n e W e s s e lm k o w n e r .Special' Permanent special ...only,. 3 4 y e a r s e x p e r ie n c e Complete Automotive Repairs: *25 ' ’ ’ * Where excellence and good service is my business” A u t o m a t ic T ra n s m is s io n s E x h a u s t S y s te m s B r a k e W o rk G e n e ra l T une up CALL 668-4563 Ava’s Hair Design Open Mon Fri„ 8 Sp m 1 ’/« mi. east of Sandy 42007 S.E.
