April 24, 1907 He died in 1965 Su-vivors include three daugnters, Naome Esmay and Elsie Tillotson, both uf P o r tla n d , and V e r la Walters of Maupin; four sons, Robert of Prescott, Ariz., Roland of Wicken burg, A ril., Lyle of Watson ville, Calif., and Leland of P o r tla n d ; 16 g r a n d c h ild r e n ; 31 g re a t grandchildren, and eight great-great-grandchildren. Diane & Kim Decker & Scales Sandy Oregon Services were held Mon day at Bateman Funeral C h a p e l fo r Je n n in g s Charles Peterson of Eagle Creek, who died last Thurs day He was 64. Born Nov. 17, 1917 on Puget Island, Wash., he jo in e d the M e rc h a n t M arine in 1935. In 1941 he left the Merchant Marine to operate the family farm until 1945, when he became a commercial fisherman in Kodiak, Alaska, working in the winter as a carpenter He retired in 1975 and became a dory fisherman in Pacific City. He was a member of Pile Drivers Union Local 2416. He is survived by his w ife , E liz a b e th ; th ree daughters, Cheryl Alkema of Walnut, Calif., Laverne Gressinger of Sky Forest, Calif., and LaVonne W it cher of Hazel Dell, Wash.; one son, John Craig Peter son of Eagle Creek; one brother, Ben Peterson of C athlam et, Wash.; one sister, Elsie Bonawitz of Oregon C ity, and nine grandchildren. The family suggests that those wishing to send con tributions to the charity of their choice. In 1970 she moved to Gates, Ore., where she liv ed until moving to Kuna, Idahj, in 1970. She had just recently moved to Salem She married Clarence W Anderson on Dec 1930 in Minnesota He died in 1959 In i960 she m a r r ie d Thom as D a u g h e rty in Washington. He survives. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in G ates and of the Rebekahs.
