Recipes from 300 Orego mans have been collected in a new cookbook, publish ed by the Oregon Division of the American Cancer Society, now a va ila b le locally. Featuring Oregon pro ducts from apples to zuc chini, cookbook sales are expected to raise more than $100,000 for the fight against cancer L o ca lly, the book is a v a ila b le at W illia m s T I.riiA .ay, the Sandy Rex- all Drug and the Oregon Candy Farm, east of Sandy on Highway 26. A ll 300 recipes came from volunteers of the Oregon Division, except for some famous recipes from some of the state’s best restaurants. Mo’s clam chowder from Newport, The Ringside's onion rings from Portland, and Hungarian coffee cake from the Village Green in Cottage Grove are among the samplings found in the restaurant section O ther goodies range from Scripture Cake to Microwave Rice Pudding All recipes submitted were screened for completeness prior to publication. Spiral bound with four- color cover photographs of Oregon scenes, the book is available for a minimum $6 contribution to the local units of the Cancer Society. The money raised with aid the continuation of cancer program s in research, education, prevention and service. Copies can be ordered by phone, 636-3427. Copies ordered by mail must add one dollar for postage and handling. John Jr. of Alaska and Richard of Bor ing; two sisters, Esther Medley of Gresham and Linda Stout of Newberg, a brother, Glenn Stevens of Newberg, and five grand children Services were held Dec. 11 at the Sandy Assembly of God Church Concluding services were at Sandy Ridge Cemetery The fa m ily suggests memorials be made to Mt Hood Hospice. Mr. Reich was born in Sandy on Dec 21, 1915 His fam ily moved to California when he was 3 years old. The fam ily later returned to Sandy where he attended high school He began work as a steam fitter at the Oregon shipyards before entering the U S Army in 1942 After his discharge in 1945. he returned to Portland. Mr Reich resumed his career as a steam fitter and also operated a lumber m ill near Florence For the past 10 years, he had lived in the Roseburg and Medford area He is survived by his brother.
