He was born May 15, 1887, on the fa m ily farm on Revenue Road. M r Bartsch worked on the family farm and sawmills at an early age He married Lyda Bramhall in 1914 They lived in the Orient area until moving to Bend where he worked in a mill. They returned to Sandy in the 1930s and he worked with his brothers in a Cherryville sawmill and then they mov ed the mill to Wemme. They sold the mill in 1937 and began farming and selling berries When Mr. Bartsch quit fa r ming, he drove the U S mail route to Government Camp His first wife, Lyda, died in 1957 H e married Iris in 1964 They sold their Sandy home in 1971 and moved to Gresham where he lived un til his death. He is survived by his wife, Iris; a nephew Harold Bart sch of Pendleton; nieces, L ois B e n n e tt, B e rth a G un d erson and G ra c e Rieder of Boring, and many grand- and g re a t-g ra n d nieces and nephews public on Friday evenings through Dec 4 from 7:30 to 10 p m for Community Card Night Dorothy Shrum will be available during that time to teach the game of bridge. Registration is $1 for city residents and $2 for those outside the city limits.
