Thy magic spell is e v e ry w h e re H ith e r, thither and yawn New Periodicals The Sandy Public Library THE GRESHAM Lions Club presents flag John McArdle and Hank C Henry, Mt Hood Lions Club represent a 11 ves, presented the firs t grade class at Welches Grade School with an American flag recently, fu lfu llin g a yearly tradition for the club McArdle, who is protocol officer of the club, said that a four by six inch flag w ith a base and a brochure explain mg the history of the flag was presented to the class He said that the flag presentation is a program that has been in effect since the club was formed 31 years ago In other business, McArdle said that the Lions Club is in the process of raising funds for the construction of a new hearing and sight building, to be construct«! in nor thwes, Portland in conjunc tio n w ith the Good Samaritan Hospital He said that all the Lions Club organizations have joined in Foot Doctor to assis, with the cause M cA rdle said that the b u ild in g fu n d d r iv e is necessary to rase the needed SI 2 m illion, because the c u r rent eye clinic has outgrown its facilities He said that the H. ihxj eye transplants that are done each year are no longer enough to keep up with demand He said that the new fa cility should in crease the number of opera lions to 12,000 a year The Oregon Department of Transportation is receiving a number of new periodicals which may be of interest.
