duction of "West Side Story”
doesn't open until Nov 13.

are rehearsing more than 12
hours a week for the show
already so that when it takes
the stage at the Community
Theater everything will go
off without a hitch
And the difficulty ol the
m u sical m akes th a t a
challenge
"We may have bitten otf
more than we can chew,”
Director Mark Kuntz said
this week Nevertheless, by
the time the audience settles
into iLs seats in November,
he is confident it will see a
quality performance
"The music is probably
the most difficult part of it.”
Kuntz said Leonard Berns
tein wrote the songs and "it's
a very challenging piece for
the orchestra "
The high school will
feature a full orchestra for
only the second time, the
first performance with or
chestra was last spring s "A

"They're rehearsing right
now also,” Kuntz said, "and
it's a much longer period of
rehearsal for them ” The or

Christensen
Kuntz cast the play last

kids get a chance to settle
down over the summer ”
