Activities set for Historical Days Clackamas, an Indian name meaning swiftly flow ing waters, is living up to its name, with 11 more days of “ swiftly flowing activities” under the heading of Clackamas Historical Days The old town of Clackamas was laid out by William T Matlock on his donation land claim in 1852 It consisted of 11 city blocks then, for years the center of a thriving farm community and logging in dustry Clackamas is again experiencing growth, in population as well as new business and industry C lackam as H is to ric a l Days is u way of keeping the past alive in the present The pioneers who settled in Clackamas were a sturdy yet neighborly group of peo pie and those qualities of life the present Clackamas want to keep alive and well Throughout the festival h istorica l exhibits from pioneer life will be displayed at the Clackamas Town Center, located on Sunnyside Hoad, off 1-205.
