August 20 198) (Sec Obituaries PRICES GOOD TODAY THRU TUES., AUG 2 5 .1 9 8 1 Sandra Brauer Sandra B rau er, 37875 Kelso Hoad in Sandy, died last Saturday in Gresham She was 38 Born S andra Louise Jablonski in Chicopee Kalis, Mass., she was raised in Massachusetts where she completed her education and began work as a secretary She married Hubert K Brauer on April 8, 1961, in Chicopee They lived there until 1962 when they moved to Oregon to make their home in Sandy, raising their two children Mrs Brauer worked as a le a th e r's aid at Sandy Elementary School She was active with her children in scouting and enjoyed out door activities, such as gardening, fishing and hun ting She was a member of St M ic h a e l's C a th o lic Church in Sandy. She is survived by her hus band, Hobert; two children. Hubert Jr and Alysa, both of Sandy; her parents, Mr and Mrs Chester Jablonski of ’ M a s s ach u setts; two brothers, Chester Jablonski Jr. and Hussell Jablonski, and g ran dfath er, Peter Jablonski. Vic Atiyeh July 20, pro hibits smoking in certain enclosed public places, ex cept in designated smoking areas It becomes effective July 1, 1983 According to Sen. Hod Monroe, a major sponsor of the bill, “ This is a successful conclusion to a long and dif ficult battle The passage and signing of this bill is a very significant step in the continuing story of Oregon's sensitive and responsive government and is a great step forward for the health and comfort of Oregonians ” The Oregon Indoor Clean A ir Act defines “ public places” as any enclosed in door area open to and fre quented by the public, in cluding but not limited to restaurants, with a capacity of 30 or more Bowling centers, retail stores, banks, commercial establishments, educational facilities, nurs ing homes, auditoriums, arenas, meeting rooms and grocery stores are also covered by the Act. “ For many considerate smokers the Act will mean freedom to smoke in the smoking sections of public places, comfortable in the knowledge that they are not harming the lungs and eyes of non-smokers,” Monroe said Although the Act doesn't become effective until 1983. m any businesses have already implemented some of the practices required by the bill According to Lam ont Smith, vice president of the Red L io n -T h u n d e rb ird Motor Inns, non smoking areas have been available for more than two years in all 43 locations As an extra consideration, the chain also has non-sm oking guest rooms, as well as restricted areas in restaurants SAVE 10.33 52 PIECE SOCKET SET 14.66 Don Appleby Services were held Tues day for Donald Haymond Appleby of Sandy at Carroll Funeral Home He died Aug 13 at the age of 34 Born July 2, 1947, in Long Beach.
