He was 68
Mr Haneberg was born in
Bull Kun and attended Sandy
High School with the class of
1929
After a career in the US.
Marine Corps, he retired to
Molalla in 1969
He is survived by his wife.
Vivian; sons, Miles and
Glen; a daughter, Nancy
Sim ons; a s iste r, Eva
M ille r; brothers. Ernest,
Hay, Melvin, Leonard and
Richard, and three grand
children.

He died June 2 after suffer
ing a heart attack He was
67
He was born Aug 15, 1913,
in Haley. He worked as a
lumberman with his father
and brother at the John
Valberg Lumber Co. for 50
years

He is survived by his wife,

all of Gresham, Jack and
Richard, both of Boring, and
Gary of Portland; a brother,
Albert of Boring, and three
grandchildren.
Interment was at Forest
Lawn Memorial Park in
Gresham
creek, Neb , he moved to
Oregon in 1935 He was
employed by the Civilian
Conservation Corps before
entering the Army in 1941
He worked for Reynolds
Metals Co., retiring in 1970
after 20 years He married
Lucille Johnson Lawrence
on July 1, 1945 in Vancouver,
Wash
He is survived by his wife,
Lucille of Boring, three
sons, Jack of Marysville,
Wash , John Jr of St Louis,
Mo., and Larry Lawrence of
Sandy; two daughters. Linda
Bench of Gresham and June
Anderson of Moro, five
brothers, Albert of Sandy.

on June 5, 1929 They lived in

they moved to Grants Pass
They moved to Idaho in 1961
where they farmed until

returned to Oregon
They lived at Madras,
where Mrs Burks was a
member of the Conservative
Baptist Church, until moving
to Sandy recently to live with
their son
She is survived by her hus
band, Lloyd; a son. William

Home Baptist Church She
died at her home in Gresham
June 6 She was 75.
She was born March 16.
1906 to Arthur and Sadie
Chase on the fa m ily
homestead near Orient. She
attended elementary school
at Orient and completed high
school at Gresham in 1925
She g ra d u a te d fro m
Oregon College of Education
and taught e lem entary
school in Eastern Oregon for
three years before returning
to her home at Gresham. She
married Carl A. Gaede in
Vancouver, Wash , on June
8, 1935
Mrs. Gaede taught at
Powell Valley, beginning in
1943, for nine years. In 1952
she went Powelhurst were
she remained u n til her
retirement in 1971.
She is survived by her
s is te r, Ida M ille r of
Gresham, and many nieces
and nephews Mr. Gaede
died in 1980
Interment was at Douglass
Cemetery in Troutdale San
dy Funeral Home was in
charge of arrangements.
The fa m ily suggests
memorials be made to the
Pleasant Home B aptist
Church in her name.

in Oregon traffics during
May. a drop of nearly 35 per
cent from May last year
when 57 people were killed in
traffic.
The May toll brought the
five-month count to 21H,
nearly 15 percent below the
240 fa ta litie s recorded
through May 1980. and the
lowest five month toll in at
least the last six years
Six pedestrians were
among the 37 May victims
Six motorcyclists, two of
whom were known to be
wearing helmets, also died
in May. The remaining vic
