There w ill also be a few con centrated sessions of 10, 11 and 12 weeks Concentrated sessions in clude accounting, biology, economics or ch e m istry and m ake it possible fo r a stu dent to com plete a yea r's w orth of subject hours d u r ing the sum m er. In addition to the m ore than 400 class sections o f fered by the college's 13 academ ic divisions, MHCC is o ffe rin g a va rie ty of other sum m e r courses and a c tiv itie s to area residents. The developm ental educa tion center w ill have a fu ll schedule of s k ill-b u ild in g c re d it courses in reading, w r it in g , a r it h m e t ic and other basic skills The com m unity education o ffic e has set up a group of short courses and workshops fo r adults as w ell as special sum m e r classes designed fo r c h ild r e n in g ra d e s one through six The college center w ill present a series of sum m er tours ranging fro m a w alk of P ortla nd 's Old Town to a w h ite w ater ra ftin g tr ip on the Deschutes R iver C h ild r e n 's s w im m in g lessons w ill be held at the aquatic center F ive levels of in stru ctio n in four d iffe re n t two-week sessions w ill be o f fered Y o u th r e c r e a t io n f o r ch ildre n ages 9-14 is being coordinated by the MHCC a th le tic de p a rtm e n t. She graduated from Sandy High School in 1977 Sheets gains vocalist award Nanette Rene Sheets was n a m e d th e O u ts ta n d in g Senior Vocalist at Sandy High School this year. She also was named se cond soprano on the A ll Nor thwest Choir.
