It w ill be at 6 p.m. in the Stadium. M ark H atfield’s office,” according to Robert Stevens of the firm . “ There still are openings for entries in all categories,” according to Sandra Brady, Superintendent of the Home Economics Department at the fa ir . “ We a re p a r tic u la r ly in te re ste d in o rg a n iza tio n s w ish in g to su b m it ta b le d e c o ra tin g exhibits," she said, “ church groups, garden clubs, women’s clubs, men’s clubs, bridge cluhs or any other group that wants to show i t ’s s k ill." “ Tables may be set for buffet, barbecue, brunch or a form al dinner,” Brady said. The theme may be seasonal, humorous or anything the group th in k s a p p ro p ria te . The contest has two sections: one fo r the firs t five days and one for the last five days of the fair. “ The section for individual large table decorators also openings,” Brady said. In the pulling contest, two- horse teams attem pt to pull stoneboats (weighted sleds) a distance of 15 feet, w ith 500 pounds added on each suc ceeding attem pt until one w in n in g te a m re m a in s. T here are three classifications: lightweights (up to 3,000 pounds), middle- w e ig h ts (3,000 to 3,500 pounds), and heavyweights (over 3,500 pounds). fo r o co m p le te lis t o f o u r rock & fill m a te ria ls .
