Peggy Shears, activities coordinator, says she ex pects more entrants in logging events this year than in the past due to increased prize money. “ We’ve increased the prize fund about three and one half times for this year,” Shears said. “ I think the extra money should draw more contestants to the logging events.” The total amount of prize money up for grabs this year is more than 85100. M S D case m o v e d A change of venue has been granted for a suit filed in Clackamas County Circuit Court designed to stop the county’s participation in the new M etropolitan Service District. A show cause hearing on why Clackamas County should pay for involvement in the reorganized MSD has been set fo r 9:30 a.m. Thursday in Marion County Circuit Court in Salem Clackamas Circuit Judge Winston Bradshaw granted the change of venue Monday. The suit was filed late last month by the Clackamas County Home and Lan d o w n e rs P r o t e c t iv e Association and seeks a temporary restraining order preventing the county from spending any money for the MSD reorganized by voters in the May 23 primary Voters in Clackamas County rejected the MSD measure, but it was ap proved on a tri-county basis.
