For tnitance, I was absolutely amazed when I read where a lady who dwells part time in Hoodland objected to being called a Hoodlander. In fact ahe said that she and many others found it positively distasteful! Well now, I never! I have always been kind of proud to be a Hoodlan der . . thought the name had a kind of mystery and zest to It. One usually had to explain to strangers and telephone operators where it was. But one thing for sure. It certainly beats “ Hoodland Town. It seems to me, not too long ago this same lady thought it would be just a keen name to hang on the whole mountain. Guess there's Just no accounting for people’s taste. COMING UP: T H E R E W IL L BE A B E N E F IT DANCE on Thursday, March 27 (tonight) at the Lion’s Hall for Carol Cun ningham who was very seriously injured in a car accident in January. The dance will start at 8 p m with music being provided by all local musicians of whom there are quite a number After spending many weeks in a hospital, Carol was finally able to go home, and is now making a good recovery. TH E M T PLAYERS will hold their regular meeting on Wed nesday night, April 2. at the ZigZag at 8 p m T H E HOODLAND WOMEN S CLUB will meet Monday night, April 7, at the Hoodland Park Building at 8 p.m WELCHES C O M M UN ITY SCHOOL will begin registration March 31-April 4 at Welches Grade School from » a . m. to 4 p. m. on these days. There many interesting classes being offered for both adults and children and the fees are very nominal. "The Great Western Melodrama,'* directed by Don Thornberg, and an original comedy sketch written and directed by Terry Redding. The first production of this play is planned for the celebration of the bicentennial starting in early July. While in Palm Springs, Adrienne purchased a condominium which she moved into in February complete with house-warming. Sue Garnick, pretty brunette from the House of Beauty, back from New York where she Jetted far a week's vacation in "Fun City** She saw all the sights, took in some shows, and had really a grand time She remarked that it was a great place to visit. HOUSE GUESTS OF BOB AND RUBY GATES are Bob's sister Margaret Lamey from Havre, Mont, and his brother Ted and Maxine Gates from Kennewick, Wash. M ATT LEGAT1CH would like to say that advertising space for the Mt. Players new programs is selling fast, but there is still opportunity this week for individuals or businesses to place an ad.
