14 - SA N D ^’Ore ) POST Thur»., July 26. 1973 (Sac. 1) Take a hike, enjoy nature For the sometimes hiker living in the Pacific Northwest there are plenty of enjoyable places to go. And especially so for our local residents. One of those ‘enjoyable places' is the Eagle Creek trail located in the Columbia Gorge. The trail is well kept, easy to hike and never far from the cool waters of the stream. The scenery allows the hiker much to see including several waterfalls. There are many fine spots for fishing, camping or for picnics. > ou can either take a short hike of several hours, one day or longer to enjoy the beauties of this nature hike. The temperature of the water at this time of year is still fairly cold, but many brave it for a dip Hiking and enjoying the out-of- doors is a favorite activity for many, and the Eagle Creek trail is one of the area’s more popular spots to do this.
