The women of this club have become known for their skill in mixing fashions with festivity. In past years there has S t Eldon Goodsen is home on leave from Germany for 30 days. Eldon is home to attend the wedding of his brother, Gary. Gary Goodsen is home on leave from the (’oast Guard, at Key West, Florida. Gary w ill m a rry Beverly Rice of Sandy on October 25. They both at tended Sandy High School. Gary w ill report back to San Francisco when his leave is up. Eldon and Gary are the sons of Ixirraine Goodsen of Zig Zag. Our congratulations to Gary and Beverly, and we wish them every happiness. Evelyn and Andy Morlan back from a successful hunting trip to Canada. They were booked with Tom Erickson as guide. As they were buying their hunting licenses, who should be in line with them, but Mr. and Mrs Glenn Sheppard and M r and Mrs. Roger Comer of Sandy. Turned out they were all booked with the same guide. They drove into Vanderhoof stayed there one night, then drove about fifty miles more. From there, they left their rigs and went 51 miles more by boat to Tom Erickson's home. Tom lives alone with his horses, dog and cat During the summer Tom blazes new tra ils and builds new cabins in new country. At his home he has two nice cabins, a meat shed, and a m odern tw o room home. Plumbing, hot water, power plant, small deep freeze and above all, excellent food T o m 's b ro th e r, O liv e r, guided Roger and Glenn mostly by boat and foot power. On Sept. 14 they packed 8 miles into another range where it was more rugged. Scenery was breathtaking. A small two room cabin. The running water was taken by a bucket that was run down to the lake and back. The plum bing for the bathroom was that famous one pole perched over a hole with the toilet paper in a tobacco can. That certainly brought back memories. Andy and Tom went by canoe to hunt the islands, and Evelyn went in a n o th e r d ire c tio n , walking. A big moose came her way. Glenn and Roger got their moose the same day. Roger also bagged a bear at a later date. The next day Andy got his moose. It was so dark by the tim e Andy got his, they dressed it out and at 4:30 the next day they took horses and packed Andy’s moose rig h t to the boat. Then got the other moose and all the gear to the boat. The trip back to th e ir rigs took 4 hours. The Comers and Sheppards got a bonus tr ip as both guides are friends of Harold Edes, form erly of Sandy. Oliver took them by boat to visit with Harold.
