They became friends and Dr. Impecoven invited Julio to stay at his home if ever he made it to the United States. Resignation Denied Davis At Troutdale Personnel problems occupied the Troutdale City Council at their meeting, Tuesday even ing, June 11. The Council declined to accept the resignation of Coun cilman Rankin Davis. Davis submitted his resignation be cause of a conflict in his work ing hours a n l the evemngcoun- cil meetings. The resignation was denied on the grounds that Davis’ p re sence in the city during daytime hours would be useful in con ducting city business. It was noted that a city ordinance allows the reimbursement of wages lost by Councilmen who are working on city business, making it possible for Davis to attend evening meetings when his presence is necessary. The appointment of two new members to the city planning commission was announced. Mrs. William Nesbit aid Joe Lucas were named to replace M rs. Dale Parsons and Harold Lewis, whose term s have ex pired. COTTRELL DOINGS By Mrs. H.
