In a letter to his wife Linda, Sandy, Jordan, a dental a ssist ant said that he had received >5 cash and one day off as so l dier of the month. Jordan is a 1963 graduate of Sandy Union High School. Army Private FREDRICK A, JOHNSON, 18, son of Mr. and Mrs. Albin Johnson, Boring, Ore., completed a radio course at Ft. Huachuca, A ril., June23. During the 10-week course, he received instruction inbastc radio and electrical theory and was taught the international Morse code. Ihe Park covers about 1000 acres and Is partly surrounded by the waters of the English Bay and Burrard Inlet. It has all kinds of prim itive foliage, huge trees,flow er gardens and picnic grounds. There are recreational areas for tennis, bowling greens, archery, golf, cricket, outdoor checkers, riding and boating. There is a beautiful zoo, bear pits, se a ls, whale, mon keys, all kinds of birds and other zoo creatures plus many monuments and places of in terest such as beaches for swimming or Just sunning and all for free. The only charge is if you wish to go Inside In the aquarium, and it is nom inal. W e drove around the whole park then walked around the inner part. It was beautiful but people are people all over. There were trash cans about every ten feet and sttll they strewed their trash all over. Vancouver has a good c o lle c tion o f,‘hlpples” ,theunwashed, uncombed, bearded, longhaired types. One gal, I think It was a girl, stepped in front of our car and hollered “ Yankee go home” at us. We fooled her, we didn't. Had a marvelous dinner at L eo's, picked it special because it was on Howe St. A lso the court house Is bordered on one side by Howe St. and there is a Howe Motor Hotel so we felt amply repre sented.
