Hood Community College will be located on the Multnomah County Fairgrounds when the college begins classes on Sep tember 19. Shortly after the annual coun ty fair closes this year, person nel will begin preparing the buildings for occupation by the college. The map adjacent to this ar ticle indicates where some of the college facilities will be lo cated when classes start. Facilities for the college li brary and for certain subject areas will be located very close to the campus, but not on the Vocational-Technical Programs Organized (Continued from page 1) rods’’ Heuchert stated. "The program is specifically designed to teach the principles of auto motive repair as they pertain to standard model automobiles.” Heuchert pointed out that ‘the training facility will be a modern well - equipped shop which has most of the current electronic testing equipment used in commercial shops ” “Among other offerings we hope to have are electronics, li censed practical nursing, and horticulture,” Heuchert said. The electronics program is a two-year program for electronic technicians Courses would be designed to train a student in the repair of radio, TV, and basic electronic equipment. The courses would be directed toward the servicing <___ fairgrounds. An open house is planned for Sunday. The licensed practical nursing program is tentatively planned to start during the coming aca demic year. Currently, the lay advisory committee, which ad vises the college on curriculum development, is preparing a pro gram proposal which will be submitted to the State Board of Nursing Education for their evaluation The horticulture program is a two-year program which in cludes instruction in soils, ferti lizers, agricultural marketing, plant management, and land scaping.
