Joe

“He had always told me he

Verl and Katie Fleishman
returned home Dec. 29th, after
spending Christmas In Elm

The main
reason for their trip was to
attend Verl’s parents, Mr. and
Mrs.
Herman Fleischman’s
50th wedding anniversary cele
bration. Their anniversary was
on Dec. 22, but In order to
facilitate travelling members of
the family, an Open House "was
postponed until Dec. 28.
A
community building was rented
for the “Fleischman Clan” and
over 100 people attended the
reunion. Also
in attendance
were Verl’s two sisters, Mrs.
Donna Jolley of Florida, and
Mrs. Hazel Slothower
of
Lincoln, Neb. The Fleishmans
moved to Oregon from Nebraska
11 years ago, and although they
knew many people from Neb
raska lived in Oregon, they
were somewhat amazed with
how many people they met on
the train returning to Neb. for
the holidays. It was an interest
ing train ride, because even
those
returning Nebraskans
they
didn’t previously know
“usually knew some we did.”

Don’t forget the community

ed in getting together with your
neighbors to play music — any
kind, let either Ken Burdick or
me know your wishes — it
could be great fun!
An amusing Incident happen

involved, who only probably did
what any one of the rest of us
would have done in a similar
situation — that is, jump to the
wrong conclusion!

It’s our Turbo-Jet 396: the V8 strong enough to run your
Chevrolet and its automatic transmission, power steering, air
conditioning, power windows, AM/FM Multiplex Stereo radio.
And more. Without even breathing hard.
Reason is, a Turbo-Jet V8 breathes deeper. Breathes freer.
Delivers more usable power whenever you need it—like
for safer passing. Works more efficiently. Where the smaller
engine hurries, a Turbo-Jet V8 just loafs along. You try it,
at your Chevrolet dealer's. And nowhere else.
