Grass hopper Rd open to Grass hopper Lookout. Skyline Rd. open to Brooks meadow. Trails open but none main tained. Campgrounds open are Rock Creek, Bonney Crossing, Little Badger, Pebble Ford, Upper 8 Mile, Lower 8 Mile, 15 Mile, Bottle Prairie and K n e b a 1 Springs. Fishing is fair. Fire danger is moderate. McCulloch Chain Saws With All Attachments Bear Springs District New and Used Roads all open. Trails open but none main- tained. All campgrounds open. The well at Frog lake is present ly being worked on. No report on fishing. Fire Danger — Woods are dry. Campers take caution with campfires. Special Items Eastgate road still has logging activi ties. Trails open are Herman creek to 4 mile camp. Eagle creek to 4 mile. Wahkeena falls to Multnomah falls trail. Larch Mt. trail to Multnomah Basin, Oneonta trail to Frank lin ridge open to 4^ miles. Campgrounds open are all in cluding the Larch Mt. picnic area. Eagle creek. Oneonta creek Fni ehda nb ssgooag ehti and Herman creek. Fire danger moderately high due to winds. Caution should be taken. Roads might be slippery in spots. Trails not maintained as yet but clear of snow up to 5000 ft. All campgrounds open. Fishing is fair. Rain has lowered fire dang er but slash hazard on the forest floor remains high: Special Items — Logging tak ing place near the Ranger Sta tion. Might be of interest to the public. Will also be somewhat of a hazard so caution should be taken in this area. Lakes District Roads open all except Sky line from Olallie lake south. Lower portion of Clackamas has been oiled. Skyline road rough and bumpy. Trails are all open but not maintained. Campgrounds are open ex cept Breltenbush, Horseshoe and Lower lake. Fishing is generally good along Clackamas and fair In the high lakes. Fire danger is low. There is no drinking water in the East Fork campgrounds as yet. Lost lake campground is limited in capacity due to construction. The Lost lake resort is open and has not been affected by the campground construction. Those who braved the chilly winds this weekend caught fish at Lost lake. Recent stocking has brought the lake to life The East Fork in the Robin- hood area was good with limit catches. Fire danger is moderate. Zigzag District Roads open are Sherar Burn to Kinzel lake, Still creek, Mud creek, Lolo pass to Lost lake, Zigzag Mt. road to Devil’s Meadow campground, and the Barlow Rd. Most forest serv ice roads still not maintained as yet and may be bumpy in spots. Trails open are Mirror lake, Salmon river, Romana falls; working on E. Zigzag trail at present, Paradise park trail. Campgrounds are all open along highway 26. Kinzel lake, Fir Tree, Devils’ meadow, Mc Neil, Clear creek. Fishing is fairly good at Tril- lium lake. Fair to good in streams. County YMCA Slates Tour A YMCA Central Oregon Tour conducted by Dallas Swogger, YMCA secretary, will be going by chartered bus to Central Oregon. The tour is for boys and girls of 10 years of age and up- This tour camp is dated July 15 through July 22nd. Eight great days of eating, camping, Indian battle grounds, gold min ing area, fossil beds, etc. The ’Y Central Oregon Tour’ leaves Oregon City by charter ed bus July 15th heading toward Bend—down to Klamath Falls- over towards Lakeview—up to John Day—on up to Pendleton —down the Columbia river, stopping all along the way at Oregon sites of Interest and camping at night in State Parks and Forest Camps.
