They enjoyed swimming in the afternoon and had a weiner roast for their supper. Girls attending were Beverly Colt, Pearl Aschoff, Darlene Knox, Linda Ritter, and Mary- lin Markham. Their guests were Beth Schurtz who will be initiated August 13, Sharon Markham, Bonney Shield, Joan Seely and Renegene Bickels. Mrs. Myrtle Seely and Mrs. Erma Nass were chaperones. Wedding Plans Revealed Mrs. Walter Metzler of Mabery tells of the wedding plans of Miss Betty Jane Patterson, Roseburg, who is engaged to her son Kenneth T. Metzler. iMiss Patterson, a graduate of Kent University, Ohio, is now home extension agent in Douglas county. Kenneth attended the University of Oregon and is now .a reporter for the Roseburg News-Review. The wedding date has been set for August 30. Boring Folks Attend Square Dance Meet Mr. and Mrs- Arno Ritter of Boring and Mr. and Mrs. L. Bickels of Lake Grove attended the fifth annual folk dance camp at the College of Pacific at Stockton, California. They drove down the coast route and visited friends in Ala meda and Oakland on their way to Stockton. They spent a week going to school learning folk and . square dances from instructors coming from all over the USA and Europe. The Dalles-California highway was the-route of the return trip. A silver team honoring the George Hoar family was held Thursday August 14 at the home of Mrs. Albert Valberg. George Hoar is slowly recovering from the serious spine injury he re ceived in the Boring first aid truck accident. He is in Eman uel hospital, Portland. Farrs Entertain At Their Ranch Home N o Down Paym ent On Major Car Repairs At GORDON SWAN Dodge-Plymouth 247 East Powell Gresham The forty-first annual family reunion of th e descendants of Elaiser S. and Martha A. ■ Bram hall who settled in what is now known as the Aims country in 1884 was held Sunday, August 17 at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Bramhall, Battleground, Washington. A lengthy table under the shade trees on their spacious lawn was loaded -with the con tents of a basket dinner featur ing fried chicken and huckle berry pie with all the trim mings.” , . Elaiser Bramhall was m quest of fine timber and eventually built and operated a sawmill on Deer creek near the site where the Martin family now resides. William Bramhall of Battle ground is now the only surviv ing member of the original 10 brothers and sisters. The family tree lists about 200 descendants. Mr. and Mrs. August Bartsch, route 2, Sandy, attended the meeting. Mrs. Bartsch organ ized the reunion association in 1911 at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John E. Bramhall who then resided at Pleasant Home. They later lived near Sandy. The first meeting was attend ed by all the members living at that time. Mrs. Jean Daymon was elected vice-president and .Gary Hayden was chosen as secretary-treasur er. Mrs. Julia Allder still holds her undisputed title as- Queen. More than 70 relatives were present at the Clan, meeting, in cluding several from ‘California, and many more from Portland and other towns in the state. The California visitors included: Mrs. Minnie Heafd, Lake City; Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Davis, Mrs. Pauline Bibler, Mrs. Hazel Olson, Mrs. Myrtle De Camp, all of Oakland. Other guests were Mr. and Mrs. Jack Canfield and their week-old son, Steven, of Salem; Mr. and Mrs. Clay Brown, of Sutherlin; Mrs. Etta Ladd, of Sheridan and Mr. and Mrs. Ken neth Brown and son -of Reeds port.
