Where are we going? To visit Mimi (grandmother). When are we coming home? We’re not, now do what I said don’t make daddy late, he’s already angry. The car is loaded. Where do I sit? You’ll lay down on everything in the back seat, your brothers are up front, now get in. Yes sir. How far is Mimi’s house? Hundreds of miles away in Florida, now quiet down we’ll be at a rest stop in an hour or so, you kids can get out and play then. Yes ma’am. I wonder what Florida is like? What is Mimi like? I don’t remember her, I hope she likes me. Wow it sure is pretty outside, is that a hawk? Mom said we might see cactus, cuz we’ll pass through Texas, well part of it. I wonder if this is what it was like when people set out on journeys to find lost stuff and new places, like in the movies and my books. I wonder if this will be a great adventure.
