Poetry S tre e t R oots • Ju ly 7 -1 3 , 2 0 1 7 Saline Page 13 Summertime by Avendor by Deadpool Take the sword of light and cut down the darkness until you stand in newfound glory I will not believe in a nightmarish end to your most sacred and integral story And even if these words ring false coming from the pen of one such as me I will write them until the stable moon crashes into the foaming sea. Summer Summer Summertime. Barbeques and bikinis, fireworks and fireflies it’s a time to spend with friends and family. Swimming and suntans Beaches and boats, fishing and fun. It’s a time for water fights and campfires, sleeping outside and star gazing. It’s a time for relaxing and recreation time for picnics and hikes thunderstorms and lightning. No school and vacations, taking time to spend time with loved ones. This is what summer is. Just time for fun with friends and family. Take time to enjoy and take a swim. Summer fun for everyone.
