Street Roots • May 5-11, 2017 News Page 12 SCENES FROM A MOVEMENT Thousands of people paraded through the streets of Portland April 29 as part of the March for Climate, Jobs and Justice. The march occurred on that date to mark the first 100 days in office of President Donald Trump. The marchers - representing numerous groups and coalitions - organized around resisting the racism, xenophobia, misogyny and homophobia of Trump’s administration, and standing instead for civil rights, climate justice and peace for all communities.
