Sisters Of The Road believes that a just food system is important for community well being by giving all folks access to food. Food nourishes the mind, body, and spirit. Dining with Dignity means that each part of the distributive system th a t brought the food to your plate honors the earth and people affected by this food. Our Healthy Plate Project helps folks access fresh produceby using barter tickets at farmers markets around Portland. Over $10,500 was spent by community members in 744 visits to Portland Farmer's Markets this year alone. This goes to show that when the choice is made available, people will buy healthy food. www.sistersoftheroad.org s%8ts BACKPAGE Street Roots is offering our back page in the weekly newspaper fo r various social justice causes.
