Our vendors earn their way out of their individual situations through a collaboration of award-winning journalism, local business partners and their own hard work. Use these four simple steps to be part of the solution. G et Informed M eet .Vendots ■ Vendors — the men and women who sell the newspaper — are at the core of Street Roots’ mission. Each year, more than 400 individuals work as vendors with Street Roots. At any given time, throughout the city, approximately 140 vendors are at work, rain or shine. Vendors play an active role in the management of Street Roots, meeting regularly to discuss the program and acting as .. members of the organization’s Board of Directors. ■ With the money made selling the newspaper, vendors are able to secure basic needs, independence and dignity, and work toward obtaining housing.
