Street Roots • March 13-19, 2015 News Page 13 Housing advocates march on Salem eople experiencing poverty and homelessness, and their advocates, marched on Salem Wednesday, March 11, as part of the Housing Lobby Day with legislators. In addition to the march and sessions with lawmakers at the Capitol, the advocates put 20,000 donated socks on display on the Capitol steps, representing the 20,000 homeless youths in Oregon schools. At the end of the day, the socks were redistributed back to social services for people experiencing homeless and poverty.
