Each year, more than 400 individuals selling the newspaper, vendors are able to secure basic needs, independence and dignity, and work toward obtaining housing. Vendors buy papers, as many as they want, for 25 cents each, and sell them for $1, keeping all work as vendors with Street Roots. At any given time, throughout the city, approximately 80 vendors are at work, rain or shine.
