street roots Nov. 9, 2012 Kick over the tables By Michael Vance For centuries mankind has chosen to recall and celebrate the crazy and fucked up events that history has vomited on to our lap. Examples: the Maryland beltway snipers were arrested after killing several people. Sept. 11, 2001 (Never forget), Vietnam, Pearl Harbor, World War I, World War II, all the Goddamn wars for that matter. We’re reminded by the news media and the television cult about killers, unsolved murders, rapes, football coaches molesting kids. Michael Jackson, Charles Manson, Prison riots, Rodney King riots, Kurt Cobain’s suicide, Gang wars, Iraq, relapses, devastation from tropical storms, etc. etc. Every day we are bombarded with negativity at such a continuous pace. There is no use trying to keep up with it. And that s just at the macro national level. What about in our homes? (If we’re lucky enough to have one). Divorce rates are skyrocketing. More kids are dropping out of school and killing each other over video games, which hypnotically implant more negativity into young brains. It feels like the First Amendment protects negative messages and negatively reinforced feedback above all else! Some of us grow up with bullying at school. Social failures and with certain family members who constantly remind us of failures. Then many of us talk to ourselves at a subconscious level the same way the television, the media and history talk to us. Constantly! Enough!!! October 24, 2012 (just six days before Halloween) is the big bombastic event like no other event in history. It’s going down in the archives of life itself as the Big Reversal. The hands of time will cover the clock’s mouth. The tables will be flipped over by force! Positive force. "Trickle-up Economics by A rt Hazelwood If mankind is capable of blowing up the world and rubbing our nose in it. Then it is certainly capable of blasting our brains apart with good news. Happy events, successes, milestones achieved. (Self forgiveness anyone?) It’s past time to stop recording natural disasters and trying to top them with our actions and ideals and calling it journalism or even worse history. If we can protest like a motherfucker at Pioneer Courthouse Square then we can certainly get together and put history in its fucking place-As another thing of the past! Nuff said. Act now while supplies last.
