Vendors buy Street Roots fo r 25 cents and sell the paper fo r $1. M ore than 50 vendors sell Street Roots in th e Portland m etro area and Vancouver. Each vendor can be identified by a vendor badge and each is assigned to a specific territory. Vendors are em pow ered n o t only~in th e ir w o rk to sell th é paper, b ut many also contribute as w riters and production assistants.
