We will begin work on the Uni
versity next week, with C. H .
Thompson as foreman.
It is quite warm in Silverton
these days, hut we are never in
danger of sunstroke, cyclones nor
thunder storms.
Among the noted Infidels of the
East, perhaps none have done more
for humanity than the great in
ventor, Thos. A. Edison
Time is very precious with the
Liberal University promoters dur
ing the next two months. Help usi
get started in the new building.
Mr. J. Barnhouse, father of stu
dent Dick, was with us Monday
and Tuesday. Mr. B. took stock in
the University, and will do all he
can to make it a success.
The “Announcements” of the
Liberal University for 1899 and
1900 will soon be out. Send for
one. They are free.
It don’t matter what people
think. Silverton is sure to he the
home of thousands of people who
now live in the East. Many peo
ple want to live away from the evil
influences of old, heathenish ortho
doxy.
Not many universities have gain
ed in numbers 300 per cent, during
the first three years of their exist
ence; vet the Liberal University has
exceeded even this gain. What will
be the record for 1900?
