H . Thompson as foreman. It is quite warm in Silverton these days, hut we are never in danger of sunstroke, cyclones nor thunder storms. Edison Time is very precious with the Liberal University promoters dur­ ing the next two months. Help usi get started in the new building. Mr. J. Barnhouse, father of stu­ dent Dick, was with us Monday and Tuesday. Mr. B. took stock in the University, and will do all he can to make it a success. The “Announcements” of the Liberal University for 1899 and 1900 will soon be out. Send for one. They are free. It don’t matter what people think. Silverton is sure to he the home of thousands of people who now live in the East. Many peo­ ple want to live away from the evil influences of old, heathenish ortho­ doxy. Not many universities have gain­ ed in numbers 300 per cent, during the first three years of their exist­ ence; vet the Liberal University has exceeded even this gain.
