ley. W ith a good glass, one could
see Silverton, twety-five miles dis
tan t, in the foothills of the Cas
cades. T hat evening found us in
Newberg, a t the home of J. C. Por
ter. 'The next day I visited Mr.
and Mrs. Priestley at th eir country
home and had a very pleasant time,

visited at B utteville, Stafford and
Oregon City, meeting friends too

the city. E arly Sunday morning
we started for Silverton, a distance
of fifty miles.
Very little of im
portance occurred, and we arrived
home in good season and found ev
eryone well. In a few days we will
sally forth again, and then the fur
will fly. Look out for us,for we are
coming your way, and when you
see us coming you will know what
it means.
Remember, th a t Uni
