About Butte Falls bulletin. (<1994 Dec.->) 1994-current | View Entire Issue (May 1, 2019)
We are so proud of Butte Falls High Schools very own Claryssa Oswald who is the 2019 Pear Blossom Queen. She is one of two of our high school students that have ever won this honor. The other student was her older sister, Shantelle Oswald, who won the contest in 2013. Claryssa has a 3.66 GPA. Upon graduation she intends to attend Rogue Community College and then the Oregon Institute of Technology to get her doctorate degree to become a medical examiner. The Pear Blossom festival was started in 1954. It has added events & categories since the and the annual parade has grown from 20 wagons and youngsters the first year to today's 150 entries with 4000 participants. Scholarships for area high school senior was added in 1991. This year they were judged on Community Involvement, an essay, impromptu questions and an Interview.
