There is a New Group in Town It is called the Mac Field Booster Club. Their Mission Statement:To raise money to support our Local Youth Sport Activities. With the current economic problems in our community and schools we’re all going to have to be involved in our children, and their activities, or there may not be any activities forthem to be involved with. We’ve formed this organization to help. First on our agenda is to complete the work already started by those in the past years, and make Mac Field a show place. We are putting up a large flag pole out in Centerfield, materials and moneys donated by Mr. & Mrs. Lyons and Mr. & Mrs. Earl. We’ve received several dump truck loads of pumice for the field and parking areas from Shawn Stephens. Blaine Hoppes is getting some dirt so we can make and fill planters and create some lawn areas. Cathy Carlisle and Scott Beamer got our concession stand up and running for all home games and are donating all proceeds to the Mac Field Booster Club. Sandy Carle from the Butte Falls Cafe donated a small refrigerator to go into the concession stand. Thank you all very much. We would like to keep this an ongoing project throughout the summer, so if anybody has any ideas, donations or just time to help with the park and/or would like to join the Mac Field Booster Club, please contact Darren Kinyon, Myra Blake or Cathy Carlisle. Current Mac Field projects are: * Flag Pole Completion * Electronic Score Board * Bleachers (home & visitors) * Bull Pins with 4' Fencing (home & visitors) * Flower Beds * Restrooms * Storage Buildings We hope this will carry over to all Youth Sports and/or Activities in our community. We look forward to hearing from you. Darren & Sue Kinyon Congratulation’s!!! Butte Falls Minor Boy’s Ranger Team for Taking The Championship! Tim and Lisa Retherford ________ Little League Is Over For This Year What a great year we had, the 2003 Little League season has come to an end and the Butte Falls teams achieved high honors. The Butte Falls Minor Boys placed FIRST in the Mid-Season Tournament and placed FIRST in the League. The Minor Girls placed an honorable Second place in their 'interlock league’ playing teams from Medford, Ashland, Phoenix and Talent as well as the other Upper Rogue teams. The T- ball and Pony games were just as awesome to watch this year, all of our players were a ‘cut’ above the other teams they played. If you see any of these kids around town please give them a pat on the back, they all did a great job.
