In the last year alone, we have suffered some of the worse cases of terrorism ever known. Though there are many troubles in today's society, I believe our main focus should be on ourselves as a country. As Americans, we try to portray ourselves as the sophisticated, mature, or even best" country. The best country, with the best people, the best opportunities, and the best govern ment. I think that before we proclaim ourselves to be the best, we need to stop and really consider our actions. We need to take responsibility for them, as does every other country. No one is always right. If we state that as Americans, we are always right, we are not being truthful. Every leader of every country tries to convince the rest of the world that they are always right, but if everyone is always right, and no one is wrong, then how can we differentiate between right and wrong? Were the unthinkable acts of terrorism on September 11th wrong? Yes, they were, but honestly, America has made some mistakes too. I am definitely not saying that the terrorists' acts were justified, but as Americans what was our response? Most of us just wanted retalia tion, to hurt them more then they hurt us. That is not the way to show we are the better country. In conclusion, as America, we need to join together and truly become united. We don't need anymore blaming, we need to acknowledge that in this world there are problems. We should try to think of new ways, less destructive ways for solving them. The Ladies have had several games so far, including two against the Phoenix Pirates Junior Varsity team. Needless to say the ball was in their court that first game - the Lady Loggers won with a score of Phoenix - 28, Butte Falls - 46. Sadly to say, they lost their game against the South Medford Panthers with a close score of South Medford - 51, Butte Falls -45. Their next game turned out to be successful. The Ladies had to fight all the way to the end. With hard defense and a little out scoring on the part of the Ladies in the fourth quarter, the Lady Loggers ended up victori ous. Their second match up against Phoenix had the La dies in the winning column again, with a score of 63 to 53. The Butte Falls Christmas Tournament provided a lot of action for the teams. The girls are ready for their upcoming games with Days Creek, which is always a very important game for the Lady Loggers, as well as Cascade Christian.
