Arbitration of differences is provided for, and aibitration agree ments between the publishers and the International Typographical Un ion will be executed simultaneously throug, the American Newspaper Publishert ’ Association. Under the provisions of the ar bitration agreement the publishers are protected against strikes and walkouts for the coming five years. The publishers nre assured that peace will reign in their composing rooms during the life of the new agreements. The negotiations between the pub lishers and the union have been pending for the past thirty days. During this time several conferences took place between representatives of the publishers and the union. The conferences were notable be cause of the friendly feeling which prevaded them. All questions at is sue were approached with an evi d e n t desire on both sides to roach a n amicable adjustment.
