Office of Economic Opportunity The VALLEY MIGRANT LEAGUE, sponsor of this newspaper, is a part of the President’s War on Poverty and is funded by the Office of Economic Op portunity, Washington, D. C. Cut in one inch slices fo u r med ium sized tomatotes and place some o f them as the bottom layer in a casarole dish. Sprinkle these tomato slices lig h tly w ith flour. Slice Six frankfurters in 1 / 2 inch pieces and use some as the next layer on top o f the tomatoes. Sprin kle each layer w ith a part o f one clove o f garlic fin e ly chopped and salt to taste. Cook tw o cups o f mac aroni and use some as the next layer over the frankfurters. Grate 1 /4 lb. of cheddar cheese. M ix the cheese w ith one large fin e ly chop ped onion. Sprinkle half o f the cheese mixture over the layer of macaroni. Then add a layer o f fine ly chopped green pepper to add color and taste to the dish. This event, held at the First Presbyterian Church in Salem, af forded an opportunity for the women o f the group to display their talents in making tor- tillSs, tacos and enchil- ladas. The men contribut ed to the kitchen w ork after the party was over. They were given aprons and were press ed into service as a clean-up team. A fte r 8 weeks o f studying together, this group is just one big happy fam ily.
