Email: info@prsportsmen.com It is a big week for Richard and Nina Stephens. Throughout the upcoming holiday weekend, the comrriunity will honor these two good people as their Grand Marshall and Queen for the Haines Fourth of July celebration. In addition, this past Wednesday, June 29th, Richard and Nina, celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary. Happy celebrations ail around! For most of their lives, Richard and Nina have resided in the Haines area. It is here where they have raised hay, cattle and grain, and they have raised their family. The Stephens have three children, Delbert (wife, Sam), Jennifer (husband., Chris), and Cynthiia (husband, Eric). Add thirteen grandchildren, five great grandchildren - with two more on the way - and you recognize how family takes center-stage for Richard and Nina. According to. Nina, "this valley is the best place to raise a family.” Richard has always loved being a farmer. He has taken great pride in the fact he was able to work hard and fix darn near anything. He loves antique tractors (John Deere, of course) and has enjoyed hunting deer and elk throughout the years. Nina loves having a garden and planting flowers. She enjoys reading, cooking and sewing. When she wasn’t work ing in town, she helped Richard on the farm. Over the years, driving tractor, working cattle, or delivering home-made meals to him in the field were all part of Nina’s busy day. Their Smokin Boot Ranch has provided great ppportunities for their own children, school kids and FFA students to learn the value of rural living and the importance of a strong work ethic. Family members shared thqt Richard and Nina have always placed great importance in helping out someone who is in need. Their continued commitment to service have provided the basis for lessons .their children value and hope Haines 4th of July Grand Marshall Richard and Queen Nina Stephens to carry with them as they go through life. Their children, grandchildren ^nd great-grandchildren are very proud of Richard and Nina and wanted to say: ‘Thank you for giving us those gifts that cannot be sold, but are learned through example and encourage ment.” Rerriember, Saturday evening, July 2nd, 6:30 p.m., at the Haines Methodist Community Hall, there will be a potluck dinner honoring Grand Marshall Richard and Queen Nina.
