Well guess I will put my flower
bulbs back in the bag. Still just a lit
tle to early. Gosh when we get a
nice warm day we are all ready for
gardening and mowing. But can't
mow the white powdery stuff. Wow
almost didn't recognize the bright
round object in the sky to the east.
THE SUN. Whoops it's gone again.
Don't forget the free Beef Dinner
on Feb 4 . Locks of love donations
the same night.
Bingo Night
Snow did not detour seven brave
women. They made their way to the
Grange.. My husband said just
mention the word "go" and women
are out the door. Yep, that is our
motto.
Seven people attended bingo
Thursday night hosted by Karen
Page and Carol Bouchard. Suzanne
Watson won black out. Ladies had
lots of food,fun and giggles...
Snow did keep a few at home...
Beef Week
This week kicks off the Beef
Week at school. See Erin Thomp
son's letter to the editor in this issue

New in Union County
Snacz 4-H is a 4-H program. It
focuses on Youth leadership,
Community change and Health.
What is Snacz? It’s a new 4-H
program happening in Union
County. The goal is to engage youth
as advocates for creating “healthy
snacking zones” in their schools

ing with adult volunteers and 4-H
Snacz Ambassadors to plan and
conduct outreach activities to pro
mote healthy snacking among peers
and parents, to advocate for changes
in school policies and practices to
support healthy snacking. Several
communities in Union county have
Snacz clubs. It is only Union county
for now, though they may go to
Baker County next year. Club
members in North Powder this year
are Jessup, Abby and Sarah Orr,
Gus and Olivia Mack-Skeels. They
meet every other week and are fin
ishing at the end of March. There
are now “Badger Snacz “ signs at
CJ'S store. There will be a ribbon
cutting some time in February.
There will be a meeting on Febb. 4
around 2:30 p.m. at the elementary
school staff room.

This week's news as of Tuesday
morning... the temperature is at 0. Yes,
that definitely is the number that re
minds you to keep your faucets run
ning, your diesel truck plugged in, and
to stoke up the fire. Burrrrr.
Success
Cindy Plano shared the following:
"Let me just say..... We live in an awe
some place. The communities came
together to support our Biscuit Feed in
a big, big way! The New Bridge
Grange will have $700 to donate to
Jacob's Dream. Thank you to everyone
for coming out to the dinner and for
the extra donations. Also, I would per
sonally like to thank all of the wonder
fill people who volunteered their time
to help with all of the work. We are
just thrilled with the success of this
event. Thank you!"
As always, the event was fabulous,
the dinner delish', the visiting "over the
top." Thank you New Bridge Grange

OWow, someone donated Lisa
Gardner books, James Patterson,
Mary Higgins Clark and several
more authors. What was special is
we didn't have those books on our
shelves. Awesome. I also received
lots of Clive Cussler books (new).
For those of you not liking fiction,
stop in and check out our non-fic
tion section. We will soon be adding
a bar code to each patrons library
card. This will speed our process up
even more.
Have a blessed week. Hug your
kids, smile at your neighbor and
stay safe.
