Peterson’s Gallery to Present the Third Annual New Year’s Show Peterson’s Gallery is pleased to be hosting the third annual New Year’s Show for the month of Jan., featuring three of past year’s most requested artists. For the 2015 January New Year’s Show, we are pleased to announce that our featured artist trio will be Baker City painter, Paul Hoelscher, Boise, Idaho metal artist Pattie Young, and Haines, Ore., painter and ceramic artist, Terri Axness. The New Year’s Show open ing reception will be during the Jan. 2, First Friday Art Walk be ginning at 6 p.m. at Peterson’s Gallery, 1925 Main Street. Here are some ideas to ring in the New Year! • Anthony Lakes Mountain Resort’s Starbottle Saloon will be hosting live music from La Grande’s Standard Deviation. The band is scheduled to play from 3-6 p.m. • Haines Steak House will be featuring live music from the Duane Boyer Trio. Music will be from 6 - 9’ish. • The Sumpter Valley Blue Mountain Snowmobile Club will be sponsoring the annual Hot Dog/Chili Feed and Light Show at the Grounds in Sumpter. Set up and bonfire will begin around 5:30 p.m. and they will begin serving at 6:30 p.m. • Looking for a chauffeur? The Eagles Club and VFW are team ing up to offer rides to dinner at the Eagles Club (2935 H Street) be ginning at 5:30 p.m. After dinner you’ll be transported to the VFW (2005 Valley) where there will be live music from Frank Carlson. Dinner starts at 6 p.m. and music is from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. Two cour tesy cars will be available to take you home at any time. The party starts at 10 p.m. Be sure to wear bright, white or neon colors! • The Main Event (1929 Main Street) will have live music from the Wasteland Kings beginning at 8:30 p.m. • The Baker Elks Lodge (1896 Second Street) will have a New Year’s Eve Crab Feed and Dance. Dinner is from 6 -8 p.m. with live music by Johnny & The Law Breakers starting at 8 p.m. through midnight. Tickets for crab dinner are $30 and for prime rib dinner are $20. Elkhorn Lanes (3335 Tenth Street) will have a reservation only bowling party. $25 will let you bowl all night plus party favors and champagne at midnight (for those 21 and older). The party starts at 8:30 p.m., but you must have a reservation to get in as space is limited. Call 523-5577 to make a reservation. There will be regular bowling hours until 6 p.m. that night. Social Hour begins at 5 p.m. with the program and dinner being served following opening comments.
